Emergency Procedures1. If the bus seems to be running late, especially during the first few days of school, give it an extra 5-10 minutes. Once the regular routine has started, in the afternoons if the bus seems late or other children in the neighborhood appear to have already arrived home, you may call 891-6320 (transportation office) for verification of late arrivals.
2. At the beginning of the school year, a student will mistakenly get on the wrong bus. In this case, once the driver has been notified, the driver will call the transportation office and make them aware that they have an extra child. AFTER COMPLETING THE DRIVER'S REGULAR ROUTE, the driver will then take the student home. It is important that when the student recognizes that they are on the wrong bus that they inform the driver. Children should learn their phone number and address or have this information with them at all times to assist the driver in returning the child to their home.
3. Children should remain calm and quiet in the event that the school bus is involved in an accident. Parents should make sure that all emergency contact information on file at the school is correct and up to date.
