Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery is a systematic way for students to have an opportunity to gain “credits” for courses not successfully completed, utilizing a computer program.

Criteria:  
a)    Student must have an overall average of 45 or greater for two semesters of the course.
b)    Student must have attempted one year of academic work at the 9th grade level.

Location:
a)    The labs will be on the campus of Albertville High School
b)    Labs will be staffed by a certified teacher.

Requirements:

a)    Student must complete an “application” and sign along with parent/guardian.
b)    Student must provide his/her own transportation to “Credit Recovery” when attending the
       before school or after school labs.
c)    Student must pass the “Mastery” level assessment before receiving a credit for the course.
d)    Student must be in attendance 90% of the time before “Mastery” assessment is passed to
        receive credit. If the 90% mark has not been met, he/she must continue to attend the lab
        to make up lacking number of days.
e)    When the “Mastery” level has been met, the student may stop coming to the lab or may
        elect to begin “Credit Recovery” for another failed course.
f)    Although students may work on the lessons away from school, all assessments must be
        taken in the school lab.
g)    Discipline issues will be addressed with “Zero Tolerance”.

In the event issues arise that have not been addressed, the principal will have the final authority to make decisions related to Credit Recovery.
